WORLD PHYSIOTHERAPY WEEK @ CPU

On the occasion of World physiotherapy week, a Physiotherapy camp was organized on 8 September 2022. It’s theme was Osteoarthritis. It was arranged to make people aware of the Role of physiotherapists in the prevention and management of Osteoarthritis.

To begin the seminar, VC Sir presented a bouquet to welcome all the guests including Dr. RP meena ( HOD at Orthopedic department, Medical college, Kota ), Dr.Sukhvinder Singh, Dr. Vinay Khandelwal, Dr. Vinay Gulati, Dr. Subash  Arya , Dr. Gauri Khandelwal.

After this Then VC sir shared his valuable words. He talked about the Importance of the physiotherapy department of the university and the role of physiotherapists in a country such as India.

After VC Sir, Registrar Sir also shared his views on Physiotherapy and its department. He laid emphasis on the role and importance of Physiotherapists in treating patients with Osteoarthritis.

Then, Dr.RP Meena sir took the stage and shared his valuable view and words with the Physiotherapy students. He talked about Cartilage and the formation of new bones. He summarized Osteoarthritis for the students in simple words to make the students of physiotherapy understand it more clearly. He gave details about commonly affected Joints and uncommonly Affected joints, Joint protective mechanisms. He talked about the disadvantages of not treating Osteoarthritis at the right time in the initial stage. He laid emphasis on the various Risk factors causing Osteoarthritis including Age (50% of patients are over 70 years of age), Hereditary Gene defects, Joints abnormalities, Joint overuse or injury, etc., then, He talked about the Sources of pain, diagnosis of Osteoarthritis, treatment of Osteoarthritis by Pharmacotherapy and Non-Pharmacotherapy, Complete replacement Surgeries. At last of his speech, he delivered a heartful thanks for Inviting him to the CPU and for providing his knowledge of Physiotherapy.

After this, a Skit was played titled as “Let the girl fly”. That was Journey of two Girls— one who has not the independence to achieve her dream and one who has the support and independence both by her parents to achieve her dream of becoming a Physiotherapist. It was, in short, a story of the role of the Physiotherapist in the treatment of paralysis due to violence on the Girl who has no Support from her parents, and the physiotherapist was that girl who has Support from her parents during her ” JOURNEY “.

Then, At last, Registrar sir, HOD of Physiotherapy department of university, All faculty members represented a memento to Dr. RP Meena sir. After receiving the memento, he talked about the importance of the message given by the skit played before.

Dr. RP Meena Sir  truly made the students understand, why physiotherapy and medical association have a very important role in Society. Moving further, Pushpendra sir (HOD) and Dr. RP Meena sir provided a Token of appreciation to all the respected guests for their presence in the Seminar.

After this, 2 dance performances by the physiotherapy students were performed.

At the conclusion of the event, Pushpendra sir talked about his journey of becoming a Physiotherapist. He shared that in his time, when he was a student, Facilities for physiotherapy and physiotherapists were available in only metro-Cities like Delhi, Mumbai, etc. But Nowadays, it has expanded its reach.

In this event, Free checkup camps for the Sugar level, Eye, and blood donation camps were organized for the welfare and treatment of the local citizens and to make them aware of it.
