Legal Academic and Research Writing (July, 2021)

Legal Academic research and writing a certificate program was started in July, 2021 to develop proficiency in Legal research and writing. In this certificate program Experts Advocate Ayush Gupta and Advocate Prakhar Gupta took important
sessions about Legal research and its drafting, important rules relating to steps of research paper. This program was very beneficial for students as legal research is an essential part in this profession.

Moot Court Activity (26 Nov. 2021)

On the occasion of Constitution day 26 November 2021in School of Legal Studies and Governance, a new moot court room was Inaugurated by Hon’ble Chancellor Sir, CPU, Kota . On this day students performed A Moot Court Activity on Major Amendment
of Constitution 24th amendment 1971 under Article 368, A Rendition of Kesvananda Bharti vs. Union of India Air 1973 SC 1461.

Right to know (12 Nov. 2021)

School of Legal Studies and Governance has conducted an online expert talk on Right to know: A Constitutional perspective on 12th November 2021. The session was taken by Dr. Sonu Agarwal, Associate Professor, Manipal University,Jaipur.
This session was very interactive and Informative about Right to information act and constitutional provision .

Labour Law Program ( 14 September 2021)

School of Legal Studies and Governance had organised an online expert lecture on New Labour Codes: A step towards Labour Empowerment on 14 September 2021. In this session Students learnt deep insight about labour laws and new reforms in

Intellectual Property Right Awareness program (24 Feb. )

Under National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission, Office of the Controller General of Patents, Design & Trademarks, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India in collaboration
with Career Point University, Kota has organised IPR Awareness Program online on Zoom Platform. In this IPR Awareness program various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights and filing procedures was covered .

Online Expert Talk on “Cracking the Moot”

School of Legal Studies and governance conducted an event on 3 March 2021 on “Cracking the Moot” with an objective to enhance law student knowledge on Moot court activities and to provide them guidance regarding Moot court memorial and basic learning of Moot Courts session taken by Expert Mr. Prakhar Gupta, Advocate Rajasthan High Court and Alumni of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. Mr. Prakhar shared his experience of Moot courts also he gave important tips while preparing memorial, by covering all Points of Moot court starting from memorial to presentation.

                

Online Expert Lecture on Fundamental Rights with special reference to Freedom of Speech & Expression

On the occasion of Constitution day School of Legal studies organised an Online Expert Lecture on Fundamental Rights with special reference to freedom of speech and Expression. The session was taken by Dr. Lalit Mehra  (Retired IAS officer ).  He explained various dimension of these rights with its limitations provided in Constitution.

Online Workshop on the Art of Judgement Writing

During the Pandemic time, School of Legal Studies conducted various online legal activities to enhance the knowledge of students , one of them is online workshop on Judgement writing. The session was taken by former District and Sessions Judge Sh. Uday Chand Barupal . He  shared his judgement  writing experience also enlightened the skills by his excellent knowledge related to judgment writing  including its format , on both civil and criminal subjects. This Online activity resulted in very useful ways for Judicial Competitive exam aspirants.


Online Expert Talk on Career Opportunities for Law Students

School of Legal Studies & Governance organized an Online Expert Talk on 21st May 2020. The topic of the talk was "Job Opportunities for Law Students" by Dr. Amit Tyagi, Dy. Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Govt of India, shared his experiences and revealed many career opportunities for students. It has been a great session for students.


Expert Lecture on Domestic Violence

An Expert –Lecture titled 'Rights of Women against Domestic Violence-Judicial Trends and Challenges' was delivered by Prof (Dr) Anju Tyagi, Professor, National Law University, Delhi on Friday, 26th April 2019. The august speaker explained the intricacies of Domestic Violence Act, 2005, lacunae in the present act and major reforms needed in the act to make it more effective.


National Moot Court Competition, Raipur

Three students of LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. participated in National Moot Court Competition organized by ITM University, Raipur between 6th-8th April 2019 where they performed splendidly and secured good position.


In-House Moot Court Competition

An In-House Moot Court Competition was organized on 27th April 2019 where students of various semesters of LL.B. and B.B.A.LL.B. participated. The competition was judged by President, Kota Bar Association, Mr Deepak Mittal and senior advocate Mr. Vivek Nandwana. This activity aimed to enhance the practical knowledge of students regarding the court procedure.


Active Participation in Moot Court Competitions

Students of School of Legal Studies and Governance actively participate in national and international moot court competitions and other competitions in renowned universities of the country and have performed commendably well. In-house Moot Court competitions are also organized regularly in every semester.


The High Court visits

The students of school of Legal Studies and Governance along with the faculties visited the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur Bench on 27th February 2019 where they learned about how law works in practice. They visited the court rooms and attended the proceedings of the cases. They were guided by the senior advocates of the High Court.


Workshop on Civil Suits

A workshop on ‘Procedures relating to Civil Suit’ on 24th November 2018 was conducted in which senior advocates of District and Sessions court, kota namely Adv. Mahesh Chandra Gupta and Adv. Vivek Nandwana gave valuable information to the students regarding procedures relating to filing of civil suits.


Workshop on POCSO Act, 2012

An in-house workshop in compliance with the directions of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Collaboration with the NGO ‘SAKSHI’ was conducted by School of Legal Studies and Governance on 25 August, 2018. The workshop was chaired by Adv. Kamal Kant Sharma, Public Prosecutor, SC/ST Court, District and Sessions Court, Kota and Mr. Raj Kumar Dadhich, Member, Juvenile Justice Board, Bundi. They explained about the crimes related to children and how children in conflict with law or children in need of care and protection are dealt with and relevant provisions in law related to their rehabilitation.


National Seminar on "Rethinking of Juvenile Justice System in India: Status and Challenges"

School of Legal Studies and Governance, Career Point University, Kota in association with Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority organized a National Seminar on "Rethinking of Juvenile Justice System in India: Status and Challenges" on 12th May 2018. The Chief Guest of the seminar was Hon’ble Justice Mr. M.N. Bhandari, Judge, Rajasthan High Court and Member of Juvenile Justice Committee. Eminent academician like Dr. Madhu Shastri, Prof. (Retd.) Rajasthan University, Jaipur also gave their valuable inputs on the juvenile justice system existing in the country and its challenges. Total 140 research papers were received for the seminar from all parts of the country.


Workshop on FIR and Investiigation

A workshop on FIR and Investigation was conducted on 18th September 2017 in which the Chief Guest, Mr Umesh Ojha, then Additional Superintendent of Police of Kota district gave worthy information about filing of FIR and related procedures of investigation.


Legal Awareness Programme

A Legal awareness programme was conducted in 2015 with the aid of District Legal Service Authority where the speaker, Adv. Sonal Vijayvargiya and Adv. Deendayal Soni gave an insight into the laws relating to rights of women and children.


Central Jail Visit

School of Legal Studies and Governance organized a visit on 10th October 2019 to the Central Jail Kota, secretary of Legal aid authority & additional district judge Mahendra Kumar Agrawal and Deputy Superintendent Shrawan Lal Jaat gave knowledge to the students about the environment and working on the premises, different between jail and Open jail. Students observed the legal aid cell service, educational program, training for Prisoner.


Expert Lecture on Constitution Day

School of Legal Studies and Governance conducted "Expert Lecture on Constitution Day on 26th November 2019. The guest of the day Dr. Raj Kumar Upadhyay, Registrar of the University of Kota. Chief Guest of the event, Dr. R. K. Upadhyay has delivered his speech on the "Constitution of India". He said, "The Preamble reflects philosophy as well as the fundamental values of the Indian Constitution adopted on 26th November 1949. It declares India to be sovereign, secular, republic country, and it clarifies that the objectives of the Constitution are Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. Chief Guest of the event of people consisting of faculty and students and all others.


Legal Laboratory Practical Learning in classroom on Civil Procedure

School of Legal Studies and Governance conducted "Legal Laboratory Practical Learning in the classroom" on 18th October 2019. The guest of the day Senior Advocate Naveen Sharma. The object of this Legal Lab student to enhance their practical knowledge about Civil Procedure Code 1908 where students gained knowledge about the Summon, Document presentation, Witness Calling, Framing the Issues drafting various legal documents like Vakalatnama.


Legal Laboratory Practical Learning in classroom”on Criminal Procedure

School of Legal Studies and Governance conducted “ Legal Laboratory Practical Learning in classroom” on 28th AUG.2019 at CP Tower-2 at 10:00am.

The object of this Legal Lab student to enhance their practical knowledge about drafting various legal documents like Vakalatnama,Bail application FIR,Affidavit etc.


Workshop on Civil Procedure

School of Legal Studies and Governance successfully organized a one day workshop on 16th November 2019. This session was taken by Ms. Mithlesh Malviya (Head of Department of Law)One day workshop on ‘Civil Procedure’ Where students learned about various forms used in Civil Litigation Process. Students learned about various terms used in the civil proceeding, Section Order, Decree, Judgments, Plaint, Written Statement, Appeal, Revision, Reference, Review. Students learned Drafting File for this Workshop with Various Format.
