Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) in Musculoskeletal
Overview
The Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) in Musculoskeletal is a specialized postgraduate program aimed at equipping physiotherapists with in-depth knowledge and advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders. This includes conditions affecting muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, and associated soft tissues that result from injury, aging, postural imbalances, or degenerative diseases. The program is designed to build on the foundational knowledge acquired during undergraduate studies and focuses heavily on evidence-based practice, manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, and advanced physiotherapeutic interventions.
The curriculum typically includes subjects such as advanced biomechanics, kinesiology, orthopedic physiotherapy, functional diagnosis, therapeutic exercises, and pain management strategies. Students are trained in both acute and chronic care management, along with post-surgical rehabilitation, ergonomic assessments, and preventive strategies for musculoskeletal health. A significant emphasis is placed on clinical training through internships, hands-on sessions, and case-based learning in hospital and outpatient settings, allowing students to develop practical competencies in real-world scenarios.
