The topic of the session was <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe need for coordination of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), 2012: Justice from a legal and child-centric perspective.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The session was delivered by Shri Raj Kumar Johri, Retired Deputy Director Prosecution, Government of Rajasthan. He shared his deep insights into the purpose, implementation challenges, and legal conflicts between the two important child protection laws. Special focus was given to situations where juveniles become accused in POCSO cases, highlighting the urgent need for coordination between the two Acts.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shri Johri also addressed the sensitive issue of age of consent, explaining how consensual teenage relationships are often criminalized under POCSO.
