The participation of Career Point University in the National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC) 2025, organized by E-Cell, IIT Bombay, marked a proud and transformative moment for the University’s Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED Cell). NEC provided a highly competitive national platform where innovation, strategy, teamwork, and execution were tested under real-world entrepreneurial conditions.
Out of more than 3,000 teams from institutions across India, only 100 teams advanced to the on-campus rounds at IIT Bombay. In its first-ever participation, the ED Cell team of Career Point University earned a place among the top-performing teams nationwide in the Advanced Track, showcasing exceptional preparation, strategic thinking, and entrepreneurial drive.
Experiencing Entrepreneurship Beyond the Classroom
NEC is designed to push participants beyond theoretical learning. Each stage of the competition demanded rapid decision-making, adaptability, accountability, and clarity of vision within strict timelines. Students operated under uncertainty and competitive pressure, closely mirroring the realities faced by entrepreneurs in dynamic business environments.
Rigorous Evaluation Over Three Intensive Days
The three-day competition evaluated participants across multiple entrepreneurial dimensions through carefully designed challenges:
Case Study Round focused on analytical depth, structured problem-solving, and strategic clarity under time constraints.
Quiz and Crossword Challenge tested core business knowledge, conceptual understanding, and quick thinking.
Expo Connect Challenge assessed innovation, market relevance, feasibility, and presentation skills.
Group Discussion Round evaluated leadership qualities, critical listening, articulation, and collaborative reasoning.
Across all rounds, the ED Cell team consistently demonstrated discipline, adaptability, teamwork, and resilience-qualities that form the foundation of entrepreneurial success.
Outstanding Achievement at E-Summit 2025: First Position at Fish Tank
Adding to this national recognition, Mohm. Kashif (BBA), Lavish Suneja (BBA), and Akshat (BPT) from Career Point University secured First Position in the “Fish Tank” competition, organized by E-Cell IIT Bombay during E-Summit 2025. Their success reflects the university’s strong interdisciplinary entrepreneurial culture and the students’ ability to present compelling, market-ready ideas before an expert jury.
Practical Learning Through Simulations and Industry Exposure
Beyond competitive rounds, NEC offered immersive simulation-based events such as Bid & Build, IPL Auctions, Ace the Case, and Deciphering the Labyrinth. These activities enabled participants to gain hands-on exposure to valuation, negotiation, risk assessment, and strategic decision-making.
Students also benefited from interactions with renowned industry leaders and entrepreneurs, including Benedetto Vigna (CEO, Ferrari), Anil Agarwal (Founder, Vedanta), Dr. A. Velumani (Founder, Thyrocare), Aman Gupta (boAt), Pranjal Kamra, and Kunal Bahl & Rohit Bansal (Titan Capital). These sessions emphasized the importance of resilience, innovation, long-term vision, and purpose-driven leadership.
Building the Road Ahead
While achieving a top national ranking and securing First Position at Fish Tank are remarkable milestones, the true impact of NEC 2025 lies in the confidence gained, skills sharpened, and perspectives broadened. The experience has significantly strengthened the entrepreneurial readiness of Career Point University students and reinforced the growing ecosystem fostered by the ED Cell.
NEC 2025 is not the culmination of this journey, but a strong foundation for future innovation, deeper engagement, and sustained entrepreneurial growth at Career Point University.
