Our dedication to responsible water management reflects our holistic approach to sustainability and environmental stewardship, setting a commendable standard for others to follow

Solar energy

Career Point University, Kota is poised for an ambitious leap towards sustainable energy production. Currently harnessing 430 KW of solar power, we are determined to catapult our capacity to an impressive 1150 KW by the end of 2023. This audacious endeavour is set to substantially curtail our reliance on non-renewable energy sources, with a targeted reduction of 30-35 percent. As trailblazers in the sustainability arena, we’ve established a robust infrastructure to promote and embrace solar energy usage. Energy saving strategies

At Career Point University, we uphold a steadfast commitment to responsible energy management and its efficient utilization. Our approach involves ongoing scrutiny of energy consumption, leading to the identification and subsequent implementation of enhancement opportunities. A pivotal aspect of our energy conservation strategy is the monthly “Energy Performance Index Report,” which has been a standard practice since 2019. This comprehensive report serves as a benchmark for comparative analysis, using 2019 as the base year, and meticulously documents energy usage within each building. In response to the findings, we proactively adopt corrective measures aimed at reducing wastage on a continuous basis. This rigorous and data-driven approach underscores our dedication to not only monitor but actively enhance our energy performance, contributing to a more sustainable and eco-conscious future.

Sewage treatment with latest technology

Career Point University boasts cutting-edge sewage treatment facilities employing Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR) technology. In this advanced process, sewage water undergoes thorough treatment, ensuring optimal purification. To guarantee the highest standards of safety and cleanliness, the treated water is further subjected to a UV reactor, effectively eliminating any remaining impurities. Subsequently, the purified water is safely stored in dedicated tanks, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.

Sustainable buildings

  • All buildings on the university campus are certified by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). Several buildings, including the 120,000 square ft. sports complex are LEED Gold certified and several others are awaiting gold certification.

The main features of sustainable building are

    • Energy Efficiency.
    • Renewable Energy Generation.
    • Water Efficiency.
    • Stormwater Management.
    • Superior Indoor Environment.

We have all these features built into in our building design; our practices to operate these buildings are towards conservation and sustainability.

Carbon footprint

We measure our carbon footprint for Scope-1 (Direct emissions), Scope-2 (Purchased electricity), and Scope-3 (Indirect emissions). Taking the cumulative value of the carbon footprint (CFP) for Scope 1, 2, & 3 together, we have achieved 30% reduction in CFP in 2021-2022 as compared to the base year 2019-2020. Energy usage is monitored in every building and a detailed “Energy Performance Index Report” is generated every month. Accordingly, corrective measures are taken.

Adoption of Green Area

Career Point University, Kota signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on June 2, 2019. Under this MoU, the University has agreed to adopt the green area on behalf of GNIDA.  This area is called Veer Savarkar Chowk.

Since then, we have developed and maintained the green area, cultivating flower beds, trees, shrubs, and community gardens.  Besides, we have regularly maintained the area by raking leaves, picking up litter, removing graffiti, pulling weeds, and bearing the total cost of this maintenance.

To date, we have planted 160 trees, 1107 shrubs, and 575 sqm of grass with a survival rate of 95%.
