The Ecology and Environment Club of Career Point University conducted an educational activity on “Conservation of Nature” in association with the National School Paryavaran Competition (NSPC-25), an initiative by the Ministry of Environment, Government of India. The event was designed to promote awareness about sustainable practices and equip students with hands-on skills in environmental conservation.

Demonstration on Biofertilizer Preparation

A live demonstration was conducted on the preparation of biofertilizers at both domestic and commercial levels. Using functional biofertilizing units, participants learned the step-by-step process of producing natural fertilizers that enhance soil fertility without the harmful effects of chemical alternatives. The session explained the environmental and economic benefits of biofertilizers, including improved crop yield, soil health restoration, and reduced dependency on synthetic inputs.

Rainwater Harvesting Techniques

The program also included a demonstration of rainwater collection using the university’s water harvesting unit. Students observed the design, installation, and functioning of the system, gaining insights into how rainwater harvesting contributes to water conservation and sustainable resource management.

Environmental Quiz Competition

To encourage active participation and test awareness, a quiz competition on environmental issues was organized. The quiz covered topics such as biodiversity conservation, waste management, climate change, and renewable energy sources. This activity aimed to evaluate students’ knowledge and inspire them to explore solutions to environmental challenges.

Integration of Practical and Theoretical Learning

The event integrated practical demonstrations with conceptual understanding, allowing students to connect academic knowledge with real-world applications. The collaboration with a national-level government initiative ensured that the content was aligned with current environmental policies and conservation strategies.

The “Conservation of Nature” activity at Career Point University highlighted the importance of equipping students with both awareness and technical skills to contribute effectively to environmental preservation
