B.Pharm Students Visit Pious Laboratories, Indore: Learning Quality Testing Beyond the Classroom
41 students of the Department of Pharmacy gained first-hand exposure to analytical testing, laboratory instruments and quality systems.
Students of B.Pharm, Department of Pharmacy, Career Point University visited Pious Laboratories, Indore on 24 October 2026. The industrial visit gave 41 students a chance to see how analytical testing works inside a real laboratory and how quality is maintained at every stage, from the moment a sample arrives to the final report.

Highlights of the Visit
During the visit, students were taken through the key areas of the laboratory and interacted with the experts working there.

The visit began with an entrance briefing on lab safety and layout. Students then visited the food testing section, where they saw how samples are received, logged and analysed. An expert session on the water bath, centrifuge and sample preparation explained the basic steps that come before instrumental analysis. In the instrumentation section, students observed the Shimadzu GC-2014 gas chromatograph. At the end of the visit, Certificates of Appreciation were presented to the students.
API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) Insight
How Analytical Testing Protects Quality
Students learned how analytical testing supports the quality of APIs, the active components of medicines. Techniques like chromatography are used to check purity, assay and impurities so that every batch meets the required standards before it moves into formulation.
