Essay Writing Competition 2026

The School of Arts & Humanities, Career Point University, Kota, in collaboration with the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), New Delhi, is pleased to announce an Inter-University Essay Writing Competition under the Foreign Policy Awareness Scheme, scheduled to be held on 12 September 2026. This prestigious competition provides students with an opportunity to engage critically with contemporary issues in international relations, diplomacy, foreign policy, and India's evolving role in the global arena. Participants are invited to showcase their analytical abilities, originality of thought, and academic writing skills through a well-researched essay.

Competition Process

Stage 1: Online Submission of Essays

Participants shall submit their essays online as per the prescribed guidelines. Submission Deadline: 28 August 2026

Stage 2: Scrutiny and Shortlisting

All entries will be evaluated by the screening committee and top submissions will be shortlisted for the final round. Timeline: 29 August – 05 September 2026

Stage 3: Live Jury Interaction & Prize Distribution

Shortlisted candidates will participate in a live Question & Answer session before an expert jury based on their submitted essays. The event will conclude with the declaration of results and prize distribution ceremony. Date: 12 September 2026 Awards & Prizes

Guidelines and Rules

  1. Participants must be enrolled in a recognized college or university at the time of submission.
  2. Word limit:
    • UG Category: Approximately 2,000 words
    • PG Category: Approximately 2,500 words
  3. Essays must be submitted in MS Word format (Times New Roman, Mangal, or Unicode; Font Size 12; Line Spacing 1.5).
  4. The submission must clearly mention the participant's name, contact number, email address, institution name, and address.
  5. A self-attested copy of both Institutional ID Card and Government-issued ID proof must accompany the submission.
  6. Only one entry per participant is permitted.
  7. All submissions will undergo a plagiarism check. Essays must be original and unpublished.
  8. Previously published work or entries submitted elsewhere will not be considered.
  9. The last date for submission is 28 August 2026 (11:59 PM). Late submissions will not be accepted.
  10. Essays will be evaluated on:
    • Relevance to the theme
    • Originality of ideas
    • Analytical depth
    • Structure and presentation
    • Language and writing quality
  11. Results will be announced on 12 September 2026.
  12. Copyright of all winning entries shall remain jointly with Career Point University and ICWA and may be published on the websites of either or both institutions.
  13. The decision of the jury shall be final and binding.
  14. No registration fee is required.
