There is a huge global demand for well-qualified physiotherapists. Internationally, the profession is largely dominated by women. In India, it is becoming a popular career choice for women. Though demanding, working as a physiotherapist is incredibly satisfying as you are able to make a difference to the speed of a patient’s physical and mental recovery. It is also very flexible as there are so many different workplaces and job roles where the skillset of a physiotherapist is in demand. The scope of physiotherapy practice has changed significantly in the past ten years to meet changing healthcare needs. Though exercise and rehabilitation remain the focus of the profession, treatment has now advanced and expanded to include roles that were previously carried out by doctors.
