
Kota, June 16, Mr. Rohitashv Nagar, Assistant Professor, Department of Agronomy, School of Agricultural Sciences, Career Point University, Kota, recently delivered a radio talk as part of the Kisan Chaupal program broadcast by Akashvani Kota-Bundi Channel, Prasar Bharati.
In his talk, Mr. Nagar shed light on the multifaceted importance of millets, focusing not only on their economic benefits for farmers but also on their contribution to nutrition and public health. He encouraged farmers to integrate millets into their cropping systems, citing their resilience to climate stress, minimal input requirements, and suitability for rainfed agriculture.
The address covered a wide range of topics, including:

- Low input requirements and climate adaptability.
- Value addition opportunities through post-harvest processing.
- Emerging scope for millet-based startups in India.
He also introduced the Government of India’s “Shree Anna” initiative, which aims to promote millets on national and global platforms as part of a sustainable agricultural and nutritional strategy. Mr. Nagar emphasized that millets offer a promising pathway not just for farmers, but also for aspiring entrepreneurs and health-conscious consumers.
